Vanuatu Agriculture College Qualification Entry Requirements

All qualifications at the Vanuatu Agriculture College are required to meet the specifications of the Vanuatu Qualifications Framework (VQF). The VQF clearly states that:

‘Entry requirements should not unreasonably exclude individuals because of descent, gender, social origin, place of birth, family status or special needs’.

VAC strongly adheres to this specification and encourages all people of Vanuatu to apply, however there are specific entry requirements for each level qualification offered.

Certificate level I- Entry to level 1 certificate is completion of Year 8 general education with a good command of literacy and numeracy and a minimum age of 16 years or at least 2 years work experience in a recognized agricultural industry.

Certificate level II – Entry to certificate 2 is completion of Year 10 general education with a good command of literacy and numeracy and a minimum age of 16 years or an achieved certificate I qualification. Applicants who hold a minimum of 2 years work experience in a recognized industry will also be considered.

Certificate level III – Entry to level 3 certificates is completion of Year 11 general education with a good command of literacy and numeracy, or an achieved level 2 certificate and a minimum age of 17 years. Applicants who hold a minimum of 3 years work experience in a recognized industry will also be considered.

Certificate level IV – Entry to a level 4 certificate is completion of Year 12 or 13 education, majoring in science and mathematics subjects or a level 3 certificate and a minimum age of 17. Applicants who hold a minimum of 4 years work experience in a recognized industry will also be considered.
